Ode to Autumn, Annie D.

breathe in,

summer’s fragrance.

recollect,

winter’s melody.

come autumn,

yearn for

heat or cold.

never

the brisk

blow.

green leaves

change pink,

yellow,

and orange.

falling hopelessly

blanketing

nature’s floor.

scarfed necks

and hatted heads

defeat the breeze.

scattered pine cones

retrace melancholy

thoughts

as the

wind dances to

an art-full

rhythm

hold

onto autumn’s

memories.

keep

summer’s

comfort

and winter’s

bitterness

in the past.
