Matisse at the Guild

In our drawing journals this week, we listened to the line of Matisse. It began with a little lesson on composition and the instruction to anchor one object precisely and connect all the rest to that one. The catch? Each and every shape must be drawn with a new colored marker. Colors could repeat, but Sharpees must be consistently swapped out for every new shape. The peaceful concentration was, well, fruitful.
